How to Start

Published on 18 April 2023 at 11:08

Okay, so let's say you know you have to do it. How do you start? Well, below is a set of tips and steps to help you as you begin your runaway journey. These lists will be updated over time, so feel free to check back in often! Also, please let me know in the comments section if there's anything I need to add. Without further ado . . .

How do you sneak out? Well, first, gotta suggest my main website for unprofessional but fairly accurate info: WikiHow! Just look for how to guides on

1. how to sneak out, and you'll have a way out of the house. After that, look at guides for

2. how to look older,

3. how to change your look,

4. how to change your handwriting, etc. And then when you get out you'll have a better chance of staying out.

5. If you are walking, try to put in at least 5-10 miles a day, and if you are biking, driving, hitch-hiking or taking a bus,

6. try anywhere from 10 miles to heck, maybe even 300, who knows?

7. And always be heading towards somewhere. The thing about successful runaways is that they don't just run away from somewhere, they also run to somewhere else.

8. Try to always be near homeless shelters,

9. food pantries,

10. and churches, as those things can provide food and shelter.

Tips.

So far I  just have one, but I'll have more later.

A. Don't call your parents from your phone, a pay phone, don't text them, don't email them, nothing. If you need to talk to them again but don't want to go back, use the National Runaway Safeline's services that allow you to talk to your parents via conference call or use the messaging system. Simply enter a live chat or a phone call and ask how it works.
